Toggle switch to connect ON/OFF bluetooth device

#1 Post by cedricoola »

Turning bluetooth on and off requires just one click.

But once bluetooth is enabled, connecting a bluetooth device is cumbersome.

I need to connect/disconnect my bluetooth speaker in order to switch between sending music from my Linux pc or from my smartphone.

On Ubuntu, there is a toggle switch that I can access directly from the task bar. It really handy. Is there anything similar on MX Linux?

The blueman-applet doesn't work for you?

Just tried blueman-applet but I would need a ON/OFF button that I can access by clicking on the bluetooth icon in the system tray. I had this in Ubuntu. I don't remember the name and can't find it anywhere now. By installing something from the terminal I was able to add this, I remember. an add-on to the existing applet, that would just allow to see your BT device and an ON/OFF button in front of it.

Did you right click the treat icon > Bluetooth On/Off?

Maybe I'm just totally not getting it...

"Clicking through to the page from the image in the OP, it appears it may be a bluetooth cinnamon applet. I don't use Cinnamon, so can't offer any more."

Anything similar on Mx Linux/another distro? Is there a distro out there that allows to connect/disconnect a bluetooth speaker in less than 4 mouse-clicks?

whenever I want to send audio to my bluetooth receiver, it takes 7 steps:
Click on Blueberry applet
Click Open Bluetooth device manager
In the newly opened window click the switch to turn on bluetooth
Click on the device I want to connect to
In the newly opened window click the switch to connect to the device
Click x to close the device window
Click x to close the bluetooth window

Does anyone know a faster way?
