Increase the resizing space for the windows in XFCE4?

#1 Post by postcd »

Hello, what is the trick to make the space for resizing more than one pixel in Xfce 4.12.3 Distro: MX-18_x64?

It is very inconvenient this slow hunting of this single pixel to be able to resize the window.
OS: MXLinux 17, systemd; GPU: AMD Radeon RX 560

I am really glad that you asked this. Me too, I've been struggling with this for so long. Hope there is a solution.

Try alt+F8 and then move the mouse arrow :)

We need to check with Paul..

In MX15 (gtk3.14), he created a modified greybird gtk theme (or was it the accompanying window manager theme?) called MX-greybird-thick with thicker borders. Not sure how he did that or what entries he changed.

We used to have a style with bigger margins, but it does not appear to be available any more, at least on my system.

That would be ideal.

You can also change the window size by holding the Alt key, then hold the right mouse button
and move the mouse to resize a window.
Thinkpad T430 & Dell Latitude E7450, both with MX-21.3.1
kernal 5.10.0-26-amd64 x86_64; Xfce-4.18.0; 8 GB RAM
Intel Core i5-3380M, Graphics, Audio, Video; & SSDs.

+1000 ;-)
I strongly support this improvement too.

Some good ideas or workarounds already here are:
- have a style with bigger margins
- alt+F8 and then move the mouse arrow
- or can also change the window size by holding the Alt key, then hold the right mouse button
and move the mouse to resize a window.
