Have you written the iso file (found in /home/snapshot ) into USB? Use live-USB-maker in MX Tools to do so.

After you do and boot from the USB stick you will see the Install icon on the desktop of THAT live running stick.
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

Personal snapshots I have made do not have the icon on the desktop. As DO said you run minstall from the cli.

Hmm. I could have sworn that the personal snapshot I made of MX15 last year had the install icon on the desktop. But that could be because I wrote it onto a multiboot USB stick with ez2boot. MX's old create-live-usb tool didn't work for me.

I remember because I used this snapshot (made on my desktop PC) to install MX15 over the MX14 partition on my laptop.

I installed a personal snapshot recently, via a live USB. It was installed using the desktop icon.

Not sure what the difference is then. Maybe I also had persistence enabled. Perhaps DO or Bitjam can shed some light on this. In any case minstall from CLI is always available.

Also: please post either in the French forum (where a solution was also provided) or here, but not both (l'un ou l'autre, mais pas tous les deux).
