TIP: Run Terminal commands from whiskermenu

#1 Post by dolphin_oracle »

Fun tip for whiskermenu. the seach box can also run terminal commands, not just run apps. If you preface your entry with a ! then you can run terminal commands. Terminal apps will remain open until complete. Commands that finish will close immediately.

One I use relatively frequently is
!eject /dev/sr0
as the button on my cd/dvd drive doesn't work even when the drive is empty.

I did some (older) videos on whiskermenu tips and tricks here: Fun with whiskermenu. The info still applies to mx-15.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
