Keeping two cloud services in sync.

This may not be a common situation, but I like to have two cloud backups so I use both Google Drive and Dropbox. To easily keep them in sync, I use the syncing feature of krusader. Drop files or folders into one of the local cloud folders. About once a week run sync in krusader so that both cloud services are updated with the same files. You can use any of the file managers that have syncing capability. Midnight Commander also has this feature.

I hadn't realized how popular cloud storage was until reading a few related posts recently. I have one but not made use of it except in sharing documents once for a group. I can see the advantage if say, on the road a lot, or something similar, though.

I put the dropbox folder inside the copy folder, that way things updated at the same time as soon as I put something in there.

Doesn't that give you two copies of files in copy?

........................myfile

And if you do not have a separate myfile in copy, if one or the other service fails I am not sure what you end up with. I like the redundancy of having two separate copies.

EDIT: Thinking about I have two copies locally, one in Google Drive folder and one in Dropbox folder.

Understand and it is another option. I still prefer complete segregation.

I do recall when I started I did have a link of Dropbox (not the folder itself), inside my Google Drive folder, and did run into the constant syncing problem.

I have a setup similar to yours.
Since ~/Dropbox tends to get filled, I have /DATL/Dropbox.bak which is a "current" backup.

Inside /DATL/grive, I copy everything from current ~/Dropbox into /DATL/grive/Dropbox.safe,
overwriting older files which hopefully contains a copy of everything ever stored in ~/Dropbox.

My goal is more redundancy.

I'm just using a web app named MultCloud to sync multiple cloud drives so that I don't have to save any document in the local storage. Even sync among several accounts of the same provider are supported too.
