How to install Tiddlywiki desktop? [Solved]

#1 Post by danielson » Mon Dec 11, 2017 11:37 am

Having noticed the availability of a Linux desktop https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyDesktop/releases version of Tiddlywiki, i was wondering if anyone here had managed to get it going on MX?

Did you try and follow the directions on the github page?
https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyDesktop
Download the Windows, linux or Mac binary .zip files from:

https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyDesktop/releases

Unzip into a folder and run

Code: Select all

TiddlyWiki.app

Sorry about that, the .app extension is for Mac. :p How about building it following this guide? I'm currently at work so can't test it myself at the moment.
Building
Run download-nwjs.sh to download the latest nw.js binaries
Download the TiddlyWiki5 repo from https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5 to a sibling directory to the TiddlyDesktop repo called "TiddlyWiki5"
Run bld.sh
Execute output/linux32/nw or output/linux64/nw

MX Menu Editor did the trick!

(usually, one would expect clicking on that NW would suffice to get the app going).
