MEPIS 12 Laser printer SNAFU

#1 Postby eemaestro » Mon Dec 07, 2015 11:28 am

This weekend a SNAFU happened in my HP 2200dse laser printer. It no longer
prints in portrait mode. I only prints in landscape mode. So nothing comes out
right, since 99% of what I print is set up for portrait mode. I poked around in localhost:631.
Everything looks correct there. But it all comes out in landscape mode. Bad. Any
ideas ?

See if removing and re-adding the printer does the trick.

Okay, that worked. PHEW!!!! Thank you, Eadwine Rose, for pointing me in the right direction. And I'm so glad I didn't have to dig out my MEPIS live DVD to re-install the printer.

My old HP LaserJet quit on me the other day. I did all kinds of troubleshooting and reinstalling and whatnot. Nothing helped.

Then I put paper in it.

That would be my dad with a drill. "It doesn't work, must be broken"

Me.. swinging the cord with plug.. "Dad..."

Needless to say, I drill my own holes these days ;)
