As much as I appreciate your suggestion, skidoo, I explained on page one that I removed Firefox because I understood APT somehow failed to include library code associated with pulseaudio when I updated libraries using it. Or something like that. At this point, I am not sure if I want to try reinstalling Firefox, or how.

I got stereo sound back for all my installed browsers (iceweasel, opera, and pale moon) by following
these instructions and going into alsamixer to select my Soundblaster sound card and deselect my HDMI card in a BASH shell. YAY, sound!
