Audio output failed:
The audio device "iec958:AES0=0x2,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2" could not be used:
No such file or directory.

I have sound online but most saved video has no sound and gives the error posted. I use vlc and these videos played ok before. Any help appreciated. :crossfingers:

***note> looks like libasound2 breaks itself but maybe something else also

Can you install alsa-utils and post the output of "aplay -l" here?

I don't know if this thread shouldn't be in "Modified MEPIS", though. Sid is known for breaking your toys, that's for sure.
