But MX-16.3 should not be more stable than MX-17 ???
Who made this MX-16.3? Where did you get it from?
download from

Don't know how, as they have distinct download sites.
But, to be clear, both AntiX 16.x AND MX 16.X derive from Debian 8.x codenamed Jessie,
While both AntiX 17 and MX 17 hail from Debian 9.x, codenamed Stretch.
Confused what the differences between antiX and mX?
what the distinct download sites ?

Try the Live versions of both, out, to dispel your confusion. They are maintained by separate teams, though there is some communication between the two, and some sharing of features. AntiX resembles Puppy at first glance--the default GUI is ROX-IceWM, and requires some getting used to. But, idling as it does at around 90MB, it can't be beat for resurrecting RAM-challenged obsolescent computers manufacturered 10 -15 years ago.
MX uses a lightweight tweaked, but very customizable Xfce, which I have found to idle at about 130MB less than the much-touted Linux Lite.
