CQRPROP is a small application that gives current radio propagation and solar activity status for radio hobbyists such as amateur radio operators and shortwave listeners.

It's licensed under GPL2 per the LICENSE document in its source code. The copyright in the screen shot's example is from the source of the data, http://www.hamqsl.com/solar.html. Apparently CQRPROP just acts as a wrapper for one of the HTML banners from that site.

Thanks.

OK, it wouldn't build with the Stretch Pascal 3.0, but did with the 3.0.4 version in our test repo. It runs on just plain MX 17/18, though, no test repo stuff needed, as far as I can see.

I'm sending it to the test repo, but you can get it here, too, and install the deb for your architecture. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iynb8 ... -QSzH-llTu

Thanks, Stevo. When I try to open the amd64 .deb file with gdebi it says

Code: Select all

error: dependency is not satisfiable: libgtk2.0-0 (>=2.24.32)
I have version 2.24.31-2 installed.

Well, you need to update libgtk2.0-0 from the test repo, then. I was mistaken about it not requiring a newer version of that.

Rather than manually add a zillion FPC and Lazarus test repo packages to Stretch, I just had my build environment add the MX 17 main and test repos on top of Stretch, so it would get those automatically. It did have the effect of requiring that small GTK+ 2 upgrade, which is in the test repo for another package that required it.

Necropost question: I could have sworn I installed this (on MX-19) from MXPI last week or the week before, but I had to reinstall MX yesterday to fix another problem and today I'm not finding cpqrprop in either the stable or test repos, only cpqrlog (ham radio logbook app.) I have the SLC "mirror" selected for my MX package mirrors. I certainly don't recall having to compile cpqrprop from source so I must have installed it from a package but now it's not there? Repology shows that it's in the Test repo for MX-17/18 only. I'm confused.

Okay, I figured out what I did to install this in MX-19. I had downloaded a tarball from somewhere, probably from the github page, unarchived it, and found it contains files that go in /usr/bin and /usr/share then copied/pasted them in a root Thunar. I think I need more coffee. :bagoverhead:

I'll build packages for MX 19 and hopefully 21.

Thanks, Steve. It should be an easy build (easy for me to say): just extract the tarball then make a .deb that places the extracted files where they need to go and creates a menu item, like I did manually on my system. I haven't done so in MX-21 but I did on MX-19 and it works.

Sometimes when I open it I just get a small black window. Not always but occasionally. Just right-click and refresh and it loads. It probably needs a delay before trying to fetch the data but that would be a job for the original coder, and may just happen on my system and Internet connection too for all I know.
