Thanks. Installs fine here also. Will report on my tests.

Thanks, Steven

Just installed it.

Seems like some evolution-ish stuff had come. But anyway it works ))

It does seem to bring in some GNOME stuff, which is odd for a Qt package. Glad to hear that it works!

UPDATE:

In the meantime I did intensive testing on the SIP part of Ring. The bottom line is: Whatever I do, I don't get it to connect with a fairly standard provider-operated SIP account. Seems to me that the SIP part of Ring is still buggy, as was reported two long years ago (cf. viewtopic.php?p=439968#p439968).

@dr-kart: Can you confirm this?

SOOOORRY for late answer.
Yeah, I managed to test it with my two friends using iPhones for ring.cx app
And it seems like linux client (on my side apparently) is sort of buggy :bawling:
I can hear their voices with incoming calls but they do not (( hear me

Lucky you - at least you got something!

I tried to make MX-17.1 and its 20180228.1.503da2b~ds1-1~mx17+2 test version of Ring communicate with a friend's Fairphone 2 (latest version) that runs the current Ring version "20180501", as distributed by F-Droid (https://f-droid.org/en/packages/cx.ring/), on a Fairphone Open 18.04.1 base (which is a freedom-oriented Android version, similar to LineageOS, optimized for the modular Fairphone 2).

Result: The smartphone's Ring can catch the QR code from the MX-17.1 system's Ring and read it, but none of the two can communicate with each other. On the smartphone, there's an exclamation mark in a red circle, right next to the smartphone's Ring account where it is displayed within the app. So I guess that the problem is that the smartphone's Ring app can't register the account, by an unknown reason.

Unfortunately I'll have to give back the phone tomorrow (had this one here only for testing), so I don't know when I might be able to proceed with testing.

@all:
Has anyone else been successful?

@Caesar2:

In the meantime, have you been successful with the 20180228.1.503da2b~ds1-1~mx17+2 test version?
