Thanks for keeping Calibre current.
I occasionally use Calibre to supplement a basic Kindle, or more often, to read and manage free Gutenberg content.
Package Manager installed V. 3.24.2 today, on MX-17.1_x64 Horizon December 15, 2017.

I managed to discover the reason that backports of newer versions from upstream Debian were failing to successfully build was an undeclared minimum version of python-msgpack >= 0.5.6, so ported that over from stretch-backports, and am happy to announce that we now have the latest 3.34 version in our main repository.
