Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.

Some features:
- default star catalogue with over 600 thousand stars,
- information about the brightest stars (spectral type, distance, etc.),
- downloadable star catalogue extensions, for up to 210 million stars,
- all New General Catalogue (NGC) objects,
- images of almost all Messier objects and the Milky Way,
- real time positions of the planets and their satellites,
- 13 different cultures with their constellations,
- artistic illustrations of the 88 Western constellations,
- very realistic atmosphere, sunrise and sunset,
- 7 panoramic landscapes (more can be made or downloaded from the website),
- scripting with ECMAScript,
- and much more.

Per a request, I've rolled the Stellarium 0.12.9 release, meant for machines not capable of running newer versions, into separate stellarium-qt4 packages in the MX 15/16 and 17 test repos. It should conflict with and remove the regular stellarium packages.

Stellarium is now updated to 0.18.1 in the test repo, though you can also get it from stretch-backports.

...however, to see the 2018 Lunar Eclipse with Stellarium you'll need to wait for the next beta or roll back

Great, Stellarium is very powerful

... But I can not find into MX repository a lighter astro. app. (like sky map for android, or Celestia)
Celestia (26MB only)
https://celestia.space/download.html
.. Or is an alternative exists into MX ?

I'll try a build of the source in github that is supposed to fix the eclipse problems.
