For users of the Dolphin file manager, we now have this right-click "Action" menu package in the main repository. It allows you to quickly get the Md5, sha1, or sha256 sums of any file. A separate action allows you to install any number of .deb package files at once and automatically pull in any missing dependencies, much like the gdebi GUI, but with some advantages:
1. It can install any number of .debs at once, even if some depend on others in that group install.
2. It can install a deb that's a downgrade of an installed package.
You'll get an error message if you try to install an incompatible .deb file, saying that some of the dependencies are not available. This is expected, and good. Don't force install one of those.
We also have code that will add the same .deb install action to MX 17's default Thunar file manager, and probably soon will have a script that will install that action just by clicking it. Stand by for updates...
