MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
... One newbe question: What is the main advantage of the Liquorix Kernel, is it mostly for the compilation process and/ or gaming ?
Some tests here:
https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page= ... .17-Kernel
Edit:
I see than it is mostly for audio. and compilation.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
Now updated to 4.18-13 (4.18.0-11.1) in the test repo, apparently with the nouveau drm problems worked out of the 4.18.11 base kernel release.
Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
We're now up to 4.18-21, which is based on the 4.18.17 kernel source.
Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
We're now up to 4.18-26, which disables that unfortunate STIPB mitigation which affected performance for many operations with hyperthreading.

Yay! And thank you.
Son, someday all this will belong to your ex wife.
Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
We now have the 4.19-1 (4.19.0-8.1) Liquorix kernel in the test repo, which is based on the 4.19.8 and 4.19.9~rc vanilla kernel releases. We will be moving the compatible Nvidia 390.87 drivers very shortly to main in preparation for MX 18, which will be using a Debian 4.19 kernel, so you might wish to wait a bit for those to appear there if you use those--or you may already have installed those from the dev repo.
Changes include:
* switch to kernel v4.19 base
* merge 4.19.8
* merge 4.19.9-rc
* add muqss build fix for v4.19.7
* enable hierarchical group scheduling for bfq-sq + bfq-mq
* update version to 8.1

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
Now updated to 4.20-1 (44.20.0-3.1) in the test repo.
Please Note: The current Nvidia driver in our repos won't build on it, and it will need virtualbox 5.2.24 from the test repo, or virtualbox 6.0.2 from Oracle.
