MX 17/18 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
If you do use sgfxi, it's standard to need to run it again to rebuild the drivers for new kernels (some say run it twice).
Liquorix just updated to 4.20-12 in the test repo, which provides 4.20.0-14.1 kernel packages, based on the 4.20.14 vanilla kernel.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
I already know this as I have 4 antiX kernels installed.
With my laptop and only antiX kernels installed I can boot straight to the desktop at anytime without using sgfxi no matter what kernel I chose to use..
And the fact that I have to use the advanced gurb menu to select Liquorix kernel . If I could move it the the main grub screen would be better.
It is ok stevo

No I have to run sgfxi every time I want to boot to a different kernel this only happened after installing the Liquorix kernel . booting stops at command prompt after loading the printer drivers if I want to boot to say antiX 4.20.12 .

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
My mobile broadband quit working after booting on the new kernel. I'll need to revert back.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread
Please only report on the packages from the MX repositories here. You're getting yours from the upstream Liquorix repo, which is built against gcc-8 on Sid, and that may lead to problems with the Nvidia driver rebuild. Again, I also have backports in my OBS repository for those that don't want the whole MX repo.KoO wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 6:42 am Liquorix has been updated this afternoon antix17.3 4.20.0-15.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 4.20-13.1~sid (2019-03-10) x86_64 GNU/Linux
