I hope you guys will report back when you have it working in MX.
This definitely looks like a program I am interested in using.
And thanks for posting that video Fibogacci. What music is that?
Also, so the program will fit the length of the video to an audio file, but does not add the audio itself?
Hello,
I'm going to make some short tutorial/screencast later maybe, it will be easier to explain
But meanwhile...
You can adjust lenght of sound in PhotoFilmStrip, for example:
1. You have 5 images
2. You have sound lasting 2 minutes and 30 seconds
3. You have such options:
a) adjust images to sound (so every image will last 30 seconds)
b) adjust lenght of sound to images - eg. every image lasts 10 seconds, you can shorten (cut) sound to 50 seconds
You can even add subtitles to each image, which is good.
Best advice is to try this program with Wine, should run fine, portable Windows programs usually are ok with Wine (download, unpack, run PhotoFilmStrip.exe)
I did add music in Shortcut, because I wanted to use effects (fade out music at the end) - well, more precision and possibilities to edit.
I'm sure that such a combo, PhotoFilmStrip and eg. Shortcut will do a great job together.
(By the way, if you're interested in video editors, check this out as well, I found it lastly, really cool thing with many built-in features: Cinerella GG -
https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/ , well, to install it there is need to add repository, but it works, here is the instruction how to do it:

And music is from here:
