So much can happen by the end of the year, don't be so hasty!

You have to hand it to them. They had a lot of failures on the way to get the landing sequences to work:

Here's one of the launch back in December we saw in California: https://www.androidauthority.com/space- ... hd-835869/

which might be duplicated at dawn on the 17th if the weather cooperates.

Some of the Tesla Starman images are also very nice:

Took their damn sweet time to get us a flying car! Who would have thought that the Heavy Metal movie would predict the future better than all the other sci-fi? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_KXgFpguE0

And although the simultaneous landing of the two boosters is impressive, the central booster missed the drone landing barge. Good job, really - it landed a bit faster than planned.

The car is headed for the asteroid belt, rather than the planned Mars orbit.

now, ther's a point - - how does one save a picture like that, as a desktop image ?,
or even save it to the existing collection of images, in the appropriate folder ?.

you can put the picture anywhere in your folders and then right click on it in thunar and select "Set Wallpaper" (I forget exact wording here).
