Seamonkey 2.49.3

#1 Post by anticapitalista » Fri May 04, 2018 12:43 pm

Just in case the package team didn't see it.

New, stable update to the lightweight seamonkey internet application suite.

It's on its way to the main repo. Firefox 60 is due to be released tomorrow, too...

Yaaaay!
 I love me some Seamonkey! It does what Firefox and Thunderbird do, only faster and better. My parents mourned the demise of their beloved Netscape Internet Suite, and when I told Mom it had been resurrected by Mozilla (now independent), she grabbed it and installed it. She still loves it.
Greetings from the Bakoo!

I downloaded the package seamonkey-2.49.3.tar.bz2 but after running in the terminal with the commands:
# tar -jxvf seamonkey-2.49.3.tar.bz2
# ./configure
The answer is:
bash: ./configure: There is no file or directory
How can I install it? Is there any .deb package? Use MX 17.1 x64
No todos ignoramos las mismas cosas.

Best to use Synaptic for the deb of the latest version.

If that is indeed the source code and not their precompiled binary, compiling Mozilla programs from source is more complicated that just a ./configure, make, sudo make install...
