android-toosl request

#1 Post by radissthor » Wed Jul 05, 2017 3:52 am

Dear MX community,

I am trying to follow instructions from here : https://forum.fairphone.com/t/pencil2-i ... uide/17522
to troubleshoot my phone.

I need to install a tool called Fastboot, which is on Fedore in the adroid-tools package, and on Ubuntu on the packages android-tools-adb and android-tools-fastboot

Any chance we could have these at the MX repos?

I see android-tools-fastboot in the repos:

Code: Select all

$ acp android-tools-fastboot
android-tools-fastboot:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 4.2.2+git20130529-5.1
  Version table:
     4.2.2+git20130529-5.1 0

Thanks for your rerply Jerry

Then I guess my repos are not working properly... I also need a version of python above 3.x and no matter how many test repos I enable, I can't seem to get access to a newer version than 2.7.9.

I am attaching an error I get when I reload my repos. Do you think it has something to do with this?

Could be. Try using MX Repo Manager and click on the button to select the fastest.

If that doesn't work, post back the output of inxi -r
Production: 4.15.0-1-amd64, MX-17.1, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 8 GB, Kingston SSD 120 GB and WesternDigital 1TB

I clicked the option to select the fastest. I am in the Netherlands and, not surprisingly, it chose the nl server. I thbink that's the one I already had selected.

Reloading still gives me errors. This is the output of inix -r

Code: Select all

$  inxi -r

Even when I disable the test repo, the package shows up. What does this command give:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-cache policy android-tools-fastboot

I suggest you try enabling the MX Test repo and reload. (But I do not see it in Package Installer > Test). After that I will leave the problem to someone else.

BTW: you can also just directly download the package, and solve the problem later:
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/deve ... s-fastboot
Production: 4.15.0-1-amd64, MX-17.1, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 8 GB, Kingston SSD 120 GB and WesternDigital 1TB
Testing: AAO 722: 4.15.0-1-386. MX-17.1, AMD C-60 APU, 4 GB

That was the first thing I tried. No luck.

Thanks for the link. If anyone else can help, I need to solve this because I really need a python version that is 3.x or higher.

On my part I tried to see if it was a problem with the mirror but everything works perfectly.

If nobody can help you right away, you should explore "the method driver blabla could not be found" error. Many solutions are available on the net. Maybe one of them is the good one.
