I suppose MX-Linux's great repo men Stevo and timkb4cq would be the guys to contact. Of course this topic is partially obsolete since in the meantime MX-17 has replaced MX-16 as the latest MX-Linux, but I guess how you packaged it might nevertheless be of general scientific-like interest to them.

Yes, I built them on MX16; however,
the 64bit ran on MX17x64 while the 32bit didn't (on same MX17x64). It might have been permissions?

Did they execute for you?

The 64 bit works .
The 32 bit didn't start on my 64 bit laptop, and I'm not close to 32 bit Box. Please advise if it gives problems.

Regards, Richard.
Maybe I overlooked something here, but I can't find any *.deb files in your Dropbox. Could you please post direct links?

Thanks, and have a nice weekend, Joe

It is a binary.
Copy pea to /usr/local/bin/
Make sure it is marked, executable.
then from CLI in a terminal,
$ pea
to execute.
or
Create a link, for example,
/usr/local/bin/pea
In the panel
or
Create a pea.desktop in
/usr/share/desktop/pea.desktop
Containing at least the following:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=PEA
Terminal=false
Icon=
Exec=/usr/local/bin/pea
Type=Application
Comment=Pea desktop

I only have data plan on cell phone,
WiFi only ocassionally, so no Deb available from here.
Checkinstall will create Deb for your local use
Search for"How to build a Package from Source the Smart Way"
and
"The Debian Administrator's Handbook", chap. 5.

@Richard:

Tells me "Link not found", unfortunately.

Are you using MX-17.1?

If so, maybe you might wish to file a package proposal relating to MX-17.1?

Your package might provide @Stevo and @timkb4cq with some valuable pieces of information.

Didn't think anyone was using it and was just cleaning up Dropbox.
I built it because no one else was using Lazarus/fpc.
Do you need a copy?
I'll put them up back up tomorrow.

Here is a current active link to my MX folder on Dropbox. Let me know if if fails to open for you:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/z2kff6357i05 ... UaBea?dl=0
Within it are PeaZip binaries for 64 and 32 bit.

@MX-16_fan,
Please advise if the 64 bit PeaZip works for you.
Don't currently have Lazarus/fpc installed, but it's probably doable.
I'm focused more on C and Perl, as a hobby, at the moment.

I have used pea times ago.I am not sure if I arrived to integrate it to Thunar right-click(based on what I found on net), but remember some times was to slow on appearing up(execution).The portable version is here

Code: Select all

 https://osdn.net/projects/peazip/downloads/69508/peazip_portable-6.6.0.LINUX.x86_64.GTK2.tar.gz/
Maybe I will give another chance to test it, because i like it.
