Updates are available for gqrx-sdr now 2.6 , and gnuradio now 3.7.11 Would be grateful for these to be upgraded in the repo. No hurry as I'm still wrestling with the basics.
Thanks,
Gordon

I'll see about backporting them for the test repo.

Thanks Steve, when you have spare time. Our local sdr guru is trying to get sdr working with Linux & I am hoping to convert him to MX.

The 3.7.11 gnuradio hasn't made it into any repositories at all, and I was looking at a daunting 40 patches for the previous version in Debian that might need refreshing or removing for 3.7.11. Yikes!

Maybe it could go on the back burner for a while (for ever?) and let someone else in another distro do the toil? The versions currently in the MX repo are working for me in MX.

is it possible to have a newer version of gqrx?

I'll look into backporting that and gnuradio 3.7.11 from Debian testing to MX 17.

First attempts at a gnuradio backport failed fairly quick, but I tracked it down to a patch that Debian added to build against Buster's gcc-7. Disabling the patch has let me get at least halfway through the lengthy build so far on our gcc-6.

yes gnu radio is quite messy, i don't think that would be easy or possible. can something be done about mx16 also if possible?

It turned out to require a total of eight backports for each architecture on MX 17, and gnuradio was a pretty lengthy build. I was lucky to find and disable two patches that caused build failures on gcc-6. MX 16 might require many more packages be backported first, but I hope to get time eventually. I'm kind of snowed under right now (heh...with almost nonstop 75-80 F days here) with Pale Moon and kernel updates, plus a lot of other smaller packages.
