#1 Postby mmikeinsantarosa » Sun Dec 27, 2015 11:54 pm

The latest thunderbird-38.5.0 is now available for download from the main repo.

What's fixed:
2015-149 Cross-site reading attack through data and view-source URIs
2015-146 Integer overflow in MP4 playback in 64-bit versions
2015-145 Underflow through code inspection
2015-139 Integer overflow allocating extremely large textures
2015-134 Miscellaneous memory safety hazards (rv:43.0 / rv:38.5)
Prepare to use SHA-256 signing certificate for Windows builds, to meet new signing requirement (1079858)
In the address book manager, make the contacts sidebar remember the last selected address book (1142705)

This is also good for MEPIS 11 & 12, MX-14.
Check out the Mozilla-Thunderbird site for more info. - Mike

thunderbird-38.5.1 is ready for download from the main repo.
It looks like just a couple of items for windows based systems:
What’s New
CHANGED - Use a SHA-256 signing certificate for Windows builds, to meet new signing requirements
Known Issues
UNRESOLVED - Windows XP SP2 will not longer install Thunderbird (workaround: Install Thunderbird 38.5.0 then update)

(same for M11.M12 & MX-14)

Working fine here after an initial oddity. In one account which has been very active recently, the new version displayed 19 drafts from the past 10 days, none of which appeared in the earlier version. These were not saved drafts, just various stages in drafting a couple of complex emails. Having deleted them, I have no further problem - no new surplus drafts have been created.

Thanks, Phil
