MX 15 Repository: The seamonkey thread

#1 Post by mmikeinsantarosa » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:50 pm

The latest seamonkey-2.39 is now available for download from the main repository.

Mozilla's release notes page for this revision is about what it was for the last 2.38... Not much.
SeaMonkey 2.39 released

The SeaMonkey project is proud to present SeaMonkey 2.39: The new major release of the all-in-one Internet suite is available for download now! Building on the same Mozilla platform as the newest Firefox release, it delivers the latest developments in web technologies such as HTML5, hardware acceleration and improved JavaScript speed.
Check out the seamonkey project for more information.

Only beta1 so far, I believe.
Edit: maybe I'm out-of-date; beta1 was in April.

hello mmikeinsantarosa

Seamonkey 2.48 observation. happening in antix16_64[stretch/4.9 kernel] and in antix-17b3_64[stretch/4.10kernel]on different machines.
It is not happening in MX16_32[jessie/3.16kernel]
First appeared coincident with 2.48 upgrade ; the entire seamonkey screen, window was skewed at ~45 degrees like pictured. did a maximize window and unmaximize window for the problem to fix itself in the main window. Now some message dialogues and all pop-up upon hover text message boxes remain doing this improper alignment thing (like the "no unread mesages in this post" text; every text info. box.; signing-in just now it is affecting the save-password dialogue too.) now with multiple instances open there is difference behavior from each instance. fonts are at the default serif plus allow web page substitutions. nothing changed or added to seamonkey. it all works. it just looks odd.
May this post here as a seamonkey problem or post to antix as a stretch problem?; I do not know what. so posted it here to the packager.

I don't have anything running stretch yet. You may want to read/post something in the seamonkey forum.

thanks mmikeinsantarosa
no report of this glaring issue in seamonkey forum or bugzilla.mozilla. The first seamonkey problem ever seen here. two machines both stretch I will jump to a conclusion. Also doing nothing but wait and see. Not signed up to bugzilla.mozilla. (
That may change, eh?) thanks mike. ___ i_ri.
edit to add: switched from fluxbox to icewm; it fixed the "Go" button but nothing else changed. back to fluxbox the "Go" button remains fixed. this is a wait and see for antix. deleted inaccuracies. thanks again.

hello mmikeinsantarosa and Stevo
in 17b3_64 the seamonkey info text tooltip is dark text on light background. in 16_64 the info. text tooltip is light text on a dark back ground.
I am thinking: time to compare packages. or not;, because seamonkey already reports that upcoming 2.49 will use different gtk.
edit to delete inaccuracies. problem persists.
Does anyone recognize slanted text as a symptom of ...?
