4.11-9 is now available in the test repo.
If you require the use of broadcom-sta, ndiswrapper, fglrx or nvidia-driver you will need to upgrade/install the versions from the test repo. If you do not do this your older drivers will fail to compile.

I still haven't been able to patch ndiswrapper...

Update: until just now. :happy: The modules now build, but I don't have any way to test them. Will send to test repo.

The readout shows that it's building against the stock 4.7 kernel, not the Liquorix kernel.

Maybe you would get better results with the nvidia driver installer tool and the nvidia driver 375.66 in our test repo, if you don't have a card that demand the very latest 381.22.

I ran the command as root: sgfxi -! 40, mentioned in another thread. That command was supposed to build against any installed kernel.

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25489

I had tried running it by booting to the command line, but that errored out. The latest and greatest Nvidia driver isn't required, so I'll try your suggestion tomorrow.

Thanks!

There seems to be some mislabelling of liquorix kernels in MXPI.

Under Popular Applications >> Kernels, one is told that selecting the Liquorix kernel will install the latest one found in the test repo. But when I clicked on that, it downloaded packages for liquorix 4.8 (which is even older than my currently installed 4.9-liquorix which I added ages ago).

So I used the other tab in MXPI and chose the Test Repo. See this screen shot.

mx16-liquorixTestRepo-v2.png

It can be seen from the tool tip on the Liquorix metapackage that the version is 4.8 from Stable Repo, even though the package listing says it's version 4.11-17mx15+1, the same version number given to the 4.11.0-9 liquorix kernel.

We now have Liquorix 4.12-3, which is based from 4.12.8 with 4.12.9~rc, in the test repository. fglrx and broadcom-sta-dkms in our test repo needed updates to build against it, but that seems to now be working. Changes since our last 4.11 version include:

* properly port all changes in bfq-mq branch to v4.12 kernel
- fixes cgroup error on boot
- https://github.com/Algodev-github/bfq-mq/commits/bfq-mq
* update version to 8.3

-- Steven Barrett <steven@liquorix.net> Sat, 19 Aug 2017 14:43:24 -0500

linux-liquorix (4.12-2) unstable; urgency=medium

* merge 4.12.9-rc for 2017-08-19
* merge BFQ-SQ for legacy block
* set BFQ-SQ as default for legacy block
* disable blk-mq by default
* update version to 8.2

-- Steven Barrett <steven@liquorix.net> Sat, 19 Aug 2017 13:48:06 -0500

linux-liquorix (4.12-1) unstable; urgency=medium

* switch to v4.12
* re-enable RCU offloading
* disable RCU priority boosting
* enable full dynticks for 64-bit
* use LZ4 for kernel compression
* activate THP with 'madvise' only, not always
* update version to 8.1

The latest kernel causes the usb wireless mouse on my laptop to stall and become unresponsive (edit:) as soon as I start up my built in snapdragon mobile broadband adapter.
I've backed up all the way to 4.8.0-2.1. The 4.9 up to the 4.12-3 exhibit this behavior.
System: Host: mx1664Laptop Kernel: 4.8.0-2.1-liquorix-amd64 x86_64 (64 bit)
Desktop: Xfce 4.12.3 Distro: MX-16_x64 Metamorphosis 12 December 2016

clock speeds: max: 2701 MHz 1: 900 MHz 2: 800 MHz 3: 800 MHz 4: 800 MHz 5: 800 MHz
6: 900 MHz 7: 1100 MHz 8: 1500 MHz

mouse: Logitech M310

edit: Looks like a hw issue. After relocating the mouse dongle from the side to the rear of the laptop, the symptoms go away. (tested on latest 4.12.0-8.3 kernel).
