Can see it in my MX 15/16. Some of the repos were archived, could that be the problem?

You may be right

It's definitely in the debian jessie repos.

Code: Select all

tim@mx15:~
$ apt-cache policy k3b
k3b:
  Installed: 2.0.2-8
  Candidate: 2.0.2-8
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.2-8 0
        500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
How about running

Code: Select all

inxi -r
so we can see your repo list.

I see no mention of archives???
Can anybody tell me details of the "archives" repo so I can add it?

Haven't fixed it yet for my own installation, can't provide reliable and tested information.
Everything debian has moved to http://archive.debian.org/

The "archive" details are obviously wrong: can anybody give me the correct version?

You have no debian repos enabled.
They haven't yet removed the jessie packages from your mirrors, so enabling the http://mirror.sov.uk.goscomb.net/debian jessie item in your list, and reloading will allow you to install k3b.

Around the time Buster is released as Debian Stable (just a few weeks now) then most of the mirrors will remove those files and you'll have to switch to http://archive.debian.org for your debian package needs.

Thanks, Tim
Can at last see k3b in synaptic.
But can't mark this thread "solved" yet because I still don't know how to get the "archive" repo which I will soon need.
