Am getting numerous failures with APT for 64-bit AMD MEPIS 12.

Code: Select all

mepis.mirrorcatalogs.com/
is down - probably permanently. I have a mirror set up at

Code: Select all

it.mxrepo.com/mepis
to replace it in your sources.list

@eemaestro,

As Tim said, the mepis.mirrorcatalogs.com mirror is down, you can fix that with what he posted here: viewtopic.php?p=378512#p378512

But I think you've also created some entries for repos that never have existed, for instance
W: Failed to fetch http://deb.opera.com/opera-developer/dists/stable/MEPIS/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found

If you need help fixing your sources.list, post it (and sources.list.d files -- if you have any) or the output of inxi -r.

I tried to incorporate change from Tim's post #378512 but must have done something
wrong, because I got this:

Code: Select all

# apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
E: Type 'nl.mxrepo.com/mepis' is not known on line 23 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.

Code: Select all

root@mepis1:/etc/apt# inxi -r

Here are the contents my files before doing this:

Add the "deb" to it, and I think you'll also need to add a "http://" to the url:
deb http://nl.mxrepo.com/mepis mepis-12.0 main

I obviously don't know the syntax for this deb stuff.
Thank you, kmathern, for pointing out my goof. I fixed it. apt-get
update && upgrade just updated many, many binary libraries.

This will likely only affect a handful of users, but I temporarily ran out of room on the nl.mxrepo.com server. To expedite things, I moved the old MEPIS repository archives over to:

Code: Select all

deb http://it.mxrepo.com/mepis mepis-11.0 main
and

Code: Select all

deb http://it.mxrepo.com/mepis mepis-12.0 main
where I had tons more room available.
Sorry for any inconvenience for those still running MEPIS 11 & 12.

The MEPIS12 sources are also listed in the wiki under MX 14. https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/repos-mx-14
LT: Intel Core i7-6820HQ Kernel: 4.12.0-8.3-liquorix-amd64 x86_64 (64 bit)
DT: Intel(R) Core i5-3.1GHz Kernel~3.9-1-mepis64 x86_64

MX-14 didn't use Warren's MEPIS repo. It's Warren's (abandoned) repos that I moved.
