I don't know what they'd be. I haven't touched them in ages. Went in a toggled a few things, but it made no difference. It's got me stumped.

What's the command for purging the apt cache?

UM See if they look like this. (if link works)

Yeah, all that checks out. That was my exact sources.list before. I then renamed it and created a new one from Tim's post upthread. No change.

Welcome back Uncle Mark.

Try changing Synaptic's preferred distro setting (Settings => Preferences => Distribution [tab] ) and change the setting to "Prefer versions from: mepis" if it isn't already set to that.

Or from a terminal:

Code: Select all

su -c apt-get install -t mepis firefox-esr

The dropdown isn't populated at all.

Enclose the command you want to run as su with some quotes

Code: Select all

su -c 'apt-get install -t mepis firefox-esr'

I wonder if we maybe need to include the '--allow-unauthenticated' option for the M11 CR firefox-esr package.

The M11 CR packages weren't signed, or there wasn't a key for the M11 CR repos.

Maybe try this

Code: Select all

su -c 'apt-get install --allow-unauthenticated -t mepis firefox-esr'

What's the output of

Code: Select all

su -c "apt-get update"
?
