[Resolved] Not able to connect to VPN using Network Manager

#1 Post by philotux »

Hi,

Until yesterday I was able to connect to my VPN servers (NordVPN) using Network Manager and NordVPN's config files. This Morning it has stopped connecting. I am at a loss as to explain why this has happened. I haven't done any changes to my system and the Network Managers configuration. Here below I provide some general info about my system. Please let me know what other command I should run to give you more specific information. I would appreciate your help to be able to remedy this problem.

greetings,
philotux

Could easily be transient, seems to me. Did you check their outage page:

https://downdetector.com/status/nord-vpn
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox and Windows 10
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

Thanks so much for your reply!
I didn't have any idea about the site you linked to. Thanks for that!
There seems to be quite a few reports on NordVPN having problem connecting. The odd thing is that I can connect through their browser extension for Chrome/Chromium but not so the addon for Firefox. On Windows and Android side I have no problem connecting. I do hope that the problem is transient as you mentioned and has nothing to do with my system. Let's wait and see!

Now I feel embarrassed! Should have thought of doing that. Thought it might have something to do with my network manager and/or system. Thank you so much for taking your time to help me out.

No need whatsoever, I forget to do that all the time--hope your situation resolves itself soon.

I sometimes get part way through a post and then--d'uh--a little red light goes on in my brain: did you search it yet?

Update:

NordVPN seems to got its act together again. I am now able to connect to their servers via Network Manager once again.

Thanks again Jerry for the tip and the. support.
