MXLinux mix Bunsenlabs openbox repo (edit)

#1

Post by spanizdogs » Thu Jun 27, 2019 12:31 pm

I just made a snaphot from a Bunsenlabs Helium running system. :number1:

Against the rules i thought just give it a try. The moderators are saying its only for antix and mx-linux. And Bunsenlabs :)

So now i can slowly modify my Bunsenlabs and develop a "final" version and make a Live-Iso from it.

The learning curve of Bunsenlabs Openbox is slow in my case. I want to understand it with the option to save my settings in the form of a Snaphot.
Not to have to do things over and over again from the beginning.

I searched a lot how to make a live-iso from a running system, Debian.
PFhooee knowing that mxlinux has the tool that works. Never thought of trying it on Bunsenlabs Debian based distro, Till today.

With the ANTIX persistence options on boot.

I am very very happy and LOTS of supriced  this was possible *

Nice! Bunsen is a good candidate for this stuff.

I've done similar with a straight-up debian install. there may be a few things on the live system that don't work right (might set your system clock for instance) and you might get some unmount errors are the live shutdown, but for install media it should work pretty well.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

one other thing...our installer does have some systemd support built in, so if a user makes a systemd-based snapshot, there is a real chance things like the service tab will work.

I made myself happy with a death sparrow, as we say in the lowland of holland.

The live session iso does not connect with internet. It connects with the router though.
At boot it gives some error about the network and is busy for 01:30 minutes, searching. I have pia.sh installed.

I installed the live iso on a partition and booted. I got the same issue with the networkmanager, no internet. Though my wlan is active, i can come into my router settings.

bootlog with error will be added soon.

if someone has a hint where to look for to get internet working agian at boot. :puppy:

Bunsenlabs and Mx-snaphot is not that great .

But i am now playing with MXlinux and openbox and the repo of Bunsenlab.

Running openbox with some setups from bunsenlabs.

not all mx tools are working with my conf, because i unistalled some xfce components.

I am having fun combining the two mx and bunsen .

My fisrt desktop mxbunsen setup.

I am still struggeling with the obmenu generator. Mostly try to use shortcuts but Synapse can give me a list of apps.

Still lots to figger out, playing around and having fun :puppy:
