Live USB error vmlinuz ( Solved!)
Re: Live USB error vmlinuz ( Solved!)
While I think it is a good idea to leave the default entry when we add a custom entry, I also think it is a good idea to delete the custom entry when F8 --> reset is used so people get back to where they started. I've added this to the code and it should be introduced in antiX-19 (or sooner). Thank you for the suggestion!

I think there was an update last night to live-usb ? The new version is very slow. What used to take about 2 minutes , is now taking 30 minutes !

If you didn't change the compression type that might be a sign of problems with the USB flashdrive.
Re: Live USB error vmlinuz ( Solved!)
yes the live-usb. pretty much the same size snapshot, same machine ( w520). same usb stick. took 2 minutes ( maybe less) last night. Took 32 minutes just now. I thought the update manger showed a live-usb update last night that I installed - but I may be mistaken
I am going to try my samsung usb stick which is faster - to see if its a usb stick issue.

I just mad a live usb using live-usb-maker (cli) on antiX-17 (fully dist-upgraded).
Code: Select all
>> done
live-usb-maker took 3 minutes and 59 seconds.

OK- it was the that sandisk usb that was the culprit! With the Samsung-bar - it was very fast.
Re: Live USB error vmlinuz ( Solved!)
Oh - my snapshot is 7 GB - and with the samsung the live-usb completed in 6 minutes . Pretty impressive.
