(solved) restarting pulseaudio - no volume indicator in sys try

#1 Post by MikeKlemin »

Hello there!

I have USB DAC and Mic. and when I plug it in on already launched instance of MX-Linux the pulseaudio do not picks them up.
Simple solution is `killall pulseaudio` does the trick, and sound/mic working, but the volume indicator disappears from the system try.

How do I return my volume control back to try?

hi...

Click the MX menu- Run program- type volumeicon on the text box and press enter. The icon should appear on your bar...
Leave some feedback if this solves your problem!

PPC-- What does the volumeicon program do? It would be good to know, because it is useful to me, and if I knew what it did, it might help me understand the issue I am facing.

Why does the volume icon disappear? The same thing happens to me (Yoga 2 Pro, MX Linux 19.2, i7, dual boot with Windows 10), and if this is part of the MX design, I would like to know why... ;-)
