I noticed that the irqbalance (https://github.com/Irqbalance/irqbalance) package is available in MX-17's (Debian's) repos.
Would anyone happen to know
- in combination with what hardware use of this package can be recommended,
- whether use of this package, from a dogmatic point of view, has the potential to endanger your system?
But I guess that if that was the whole truth, irqbalance would be installed in MX-17 by default.
Regarding question #2, I'd naïvely hope that irqbalance's ability to switch interrupt requests (IRQs) wouldn't mean that irqbalance could gain direct access to the data the processor is to deal with. I might, however, be completely wrong here. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks in advance for any answer, and a great weekend to all of you , Joe
