MX live usb maker

Post by mmikeinsantarosa » Wed Jul 11, 2018 9:23 am

I've been playing around with the live usb maker and I was wondering if there was a way to get the last boot settings to stick. I would like the boot sequence to remember that I selected persist-all or persist-static, whatever I selected last to be remembered. I plan to hand over a thumbdrive to a new user and anything to minimize further instruction would be great.

I don't see much about persistence, what the different selections do, or what to expect in the wiki although DO did make a couple great videos about how to get started.

edit: If I select a persist mode and hit F8/save, after the next restart, when the system gets back to the grub menu, under F8 the word off is present. This leads me to believe I need to save again. I do seem to have it working like I want, I was just looking for more to read about the tool.

thanks in advance,
- mike

savestate boot parameter is sticky. see Wiki: Boot Parameters
You need to select it only once or clear with nosavestate.
you can either press F8 or enter as bootparamter manually.
Some more tweaking is of course possible .. ;=)
