This looks very good, richb, excellent! Everyone as they like. ;)

There is an error in conkyrc9, here is a zero too much

Code: Select all

${execi 6000 bash $HOME/1_accuweather/1_accuweather -f2015 -h2015}

richb wrote: Thu Jun 28, 2018 8:47 am Thanks, That is what I thought. Good stuff!
I made other alterations:
1. Since I have another conky displayed with date and time I removed them from this one.
2. Changed the next three hours time so it is more clear to me.
These are the two conkies:
Does this show high first, then low.

I haven't gotten the chance to look at this at all.. the cause is the scooter! Been out from 11am till 4pm today, so that is a number of hours less spent at the computer for me *giggle*

Rich, if it could somehow be integrated into the system's conky that would be wonderful.. reading about all the restarts and stuff in the terminal makes my head spin right now *giggle*

The larger font is current an fee. The temps at the bottom are high/low. Yes I integrated it into conky manager.

I warrant you had more fun today with your scooter than I had working on this.

I only have to look at all the coding and fiddling involved to start nodding quite a bit, yes!

@male, regarding your post here with the HTC conky,
viewtopic.php?p=444820#p444820

could you also post the conky text and any other necessary instructions/script for the conky at the bottom of your preview pic:
Screenshot.png
It looks like a similar conky to the HTC one without the FLIP background images and using the new accuweather images, but there's that compass on the top left plus the top panel info display is not exactly the same.

Thanks!

Looking good there! Hopefully this can be included in the conkies somehow?

It's not an OOTB conky though, as users will need to search AccuWeather.com for their city's weather page's URL, then edit the TeoBigusGeekus accuweather script (not the conky) to paste that URL in.

Also, we will need to clarify the licence terms of the weather images as well as the digital font I used (I didn't have the one @male specified - LED_mono - in his original conky text).

For now, it is best to follow the instructions given by male in this thread. Also, if you download the small zip file containing TeoBigusGeekus' accuweather script from bunsenlabs forum (link also supplied by male I think), it contains a pdf document with step by step instructions on how to use the script. Not difficult.

Meanwhile, I believe that the archive male put together for you contains the accuweather script already changed to your location as well as a conky done up to look like the gis weather layout.

Ok, thanks :)

I will look at this again.. looks like a standard conkyrc single file, right? Like the classic conky so to speak :)

Which one? The Gis-weather-esque one or the HTC Flip CLock one?

Assuming it's HTC, there are some additional steps. The HTC conky is a single file old-syntax conky but it needs some image files for the flip clock background as well as the graphical representations of the weather conditions and wind direction:

1. download the 11-11-17 zipped file for 1_accuweather from the link in the 1st post of this thread: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic ... 1545#p1545

Extract the whole 1_accuweather folder (with all its subfolders including the weather/wind images) in your home folder.

2. In the main 1_accuweather folder, open the 1_accuweather script with a text editor and paste the accuweather webpage URL for your location (ie, replace the URL already in the file with yours). I think your URL is http://www.accuweather.com/en/nl/den-ha ... ast/251687 since @male mentioned Den Haag, NL.

3. you also need to go here: https://www.deviantart.com/grynays/art/ ... -290958248

and download the zip file there just for the flip clock background images. The original HTC-style conky in the zip file relies on an old accuweather script that may no longer work with accuweather's API changes. Extract the whole thing into your home folder but you can remove everything but the /images subfolder. Rename the main HTC SPill folder you extracted, to remove all the spaces. @male's conky references $HOME/ConkyHTCSpill instead of $HOME/Conky HTC Spill

4. this is a slightly corrected version of the HTC conky, because his version refers to one file location in German or Dutch (aktualisert) instead of in English (curr_cond).

PS. Note that once you have done this and got the 1_accuweather folders saved in your home folder and the script edited , you'll be able to run the Gis weather-eque conky (and any other conky that uses the 1_accuweather script) that male modded for you without doing any further work, I think. You'll just need the conky file from his eadwine zip file.
