I also agree with this statement.
It is only CM that cannot read new syntax conkies in their user interface. The developer does not appear interested in learning enough about lua syntax to enable CM to detect it. I'm guessing nothing will change unless a third party pushes some fix to him for his consideration.
The developer of the Conky Manager also wanted to provide the simple user with a tool with which he could conjure up Conky configurations on his desktop.
This also includes clocks/rings; graphs etc. pp.
If you want to know why the developer is not moving towards Conky1.10 with the Conky Manager - a simple example:
With Conky1.9 I can embellish the
MX-Asq_clock_new_default with a background and round corners.
lua1.jpg
lua2.jpg
code depending on desktop, above TEXT or below TEXT
Code: Select all

# Output
##############################################
#--Lua--#
lua_load ~/LUA/draw-bg.lua
lua_draw_hook_pre draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.2
#${lua conky_draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.2}

This is done by this simple
Lua script.
Check this out on Conky-Version1.10 and you'll find it doesn't work anymore.
