Be patient and I will get back on this. Between new member support on the AntiX forum site. Anti's eudev test request. My trailer and motorcycle builds in the shop. My plate is really full lately Stevo.Stevo wrote:Let me know if it works if you try it, I don't get much feedback for that particular version.
.
But I will give feed back when I get time to do this. For sure.

Ok. Break time from outdoor projects so here is feed back
With a Terminal Open. Conky and Icewm running. Palemoon is manageable as Qupzilla on this 1.2 ghz Pentium 3 IBM T23 laptop. Conky shows cpu usage at 50% after settling down from starting. Ram usage is not factor on this laptop because I run 1 gig of ram.
No adobe flash installed because of cpu limitations. Browsers crash when I have it installed.
Posting feedback in Palemoon presently. I think I have a new go to favorite browser on this Pentium 3.
Thanks to Stevo. From the AntiX Team. Oh yeah. Just a little more info for you.

Re: Firefox does not start with Athlon XP CPU (Known Issue)
I forgot to mention. Before all of this and the install. I did a
as root in terminal so to have everything current before doing this tryout. Making sure libraries were as current as possible first.
Code: Select all
apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade -y
Re: Firefox does not start with Athlon XP CPU (Known Issue)
Thanks! So I guess either the antiX team could rebuild the nonsse2 version from the sources in my OBS repo, or just pull the deb and source files from the repo and copy those into the antiX repo. But I have those set to use the "obs" release, and I don't know if the antiX repo will handle that.

Re: Firefox not opening after update.
I'm having the same issue with Firefox running a AMD Athlon XP 3200+ and MX Linux 18.3 32bit, does this fix still work?Stevo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 4:16 pm https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/yo ... -supported
Your processor does not support SSE2, unfortunately. The standard Pale Moon browser in our repos also requires SSE2, but I build a palemoon-nonsse2 version in my separate, approved by the PM developers, OBS repository that should work on your system.
Add repo to your system:Download and install the repo authorization key to your system:Code: Select all
sudo echo 'deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/stevenpusser/Debian_9.0/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/palemoon.list
Code: Select all
wget -nv https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:stevenpusser/Debian_9.0/Release.key -O Release.key && sudo apt-key add - < Release.key && rm -f Release.key
But one of the mods needs to snip this section off into a new thread.Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install palemoon-nonsse2
Hmmm...I wonder if antiX could use the nonsse2 browser in their repo.

We don't have a non sse2 firefox so i'd persue palemoon. Steveo should see this and post. So standby...

Re: Firefox does not start with Athlon XP CPU (Known Issue)
Ok, I posted yesterday about Firefox not working with MX Linux 18.3 32bit on my machine, and Dolphin_Oracle suggested I try Palemoon from the repo, so I did, but it still didn't work, then I discovered this thread today but noticed it's over a year old. I hope this fix still works! :)mmikeinsantarosa wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 1:46 pm We don't have a non sse2 firefox so i'd persue palemoon. Steveo should see this and post. So standby...
Re: Firefox does not start with Athlon XP CPU (Known Issue)
No, Pale Moon started requiring SSE2 be enabled, or it would refuse to build at all, some time ago.
I don't know about Midori, though. It uses the libwebkit2gtk engine instead of a built-in one like Pale Moon. Maybe that would work.
