My apologies.
Guess i'll have to review fine print in forum rules.

Hope this one is acceptable, as it states that Mozilla did apologize to its users:

Article does, however, point out to another similar area of misbehavior on its behalf.

I never got the Looking Glass add-on.
Fact:
Divide and conquer (under the guise of "A/B testing") has been the ongoing modus operandi.

Below is not a gag. It is a legit screenshot from the about:addons page of an affected system.
You are welcome to look beyond the irony of the allcaps "MY REALITY IS JUST DIFFERENT THAN YOURS" message. I cannot.

danielson, you might visit https://antixforum.com and join the "Web Browsers" topic there.
We haven't (yet) been booted from the "Software" subforum there (into "Kafeino Chats" offtopic subforum) but it ain't been for lack of trying...

That is a terrible (sensational, anecdotal, devoid of citations) choice of linked article.

You're perfectly right on that skidoo!
I should have done a better job.

Thanks for the link!

I didnt get the looking glass addon and I am not bothered by pocket, its harmless and I just simply removed it from the toolbar using the customize option along with other things I will never use.

However a more serious annoyance I have found with FF57 is that certain links contained within web pages are un-clickable now. And right clicking does nothing either. That is strange because those links work fine in both Palemoon and Slimjet which I have installed from the MX repos. Its happened on a few sites but the only one I can recall right now is the "get torrent" links on a well known torrent site. At first I thought the site was having issues but then tried Slimjet and Palemoon and it worked fine. Any ideas anyone?

As a side note. FF57 is slightly faster than FF55 & 56 but its nothing dramatic and certainly not worthy of the hype it got. Slimjet is the fastest for me on my machine. But I still prefer FFs layout. Choices.

ff57 does not include link for torrent/magnet, has to be config.

Code: Select all

url > about:config
right clik > new > boolean >
network.protocol-handler.expose.magnet=false
next time when u clik on magnet/torrent, select transmisson or whatever bittorrent client use as default.
