Update Error

#1 Post by NevilsStation » Sat May 13, 2017 9:37 am

Just ran today's (13May2017) update and at the end this error occurred:

Code: Select all

update - intramfs Generating /boot/intrd.img-4.7.0-0.bpo.1-amd64
cryptsetup: WARNING: failed to detect canonical device of /dev/sda2
Any reason for concern, please?

Custom-built PC w/i7 CPU running MX-16.

see this:

I believe it is a longstanding but harmless warning if you are not using encryption.

I used to see it all the time (ie, from at least 1 plus years ago) when I was running Semplice Linux (Debian Unstable distro).
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400
