I haven't yet tried going backwards, from text to pdf.

Read http://www.howtogeek.com/228531/how-to- ... -in-linux/
to figure out options, like how to extract only pages 23 through 25.
Pdftotext is available with the poppler-utils package. As Jerry3904 said, you can import the text file into LO Writer, make edits, and use LO's built-in feature to save it as a pdf. Unfortunately, you'll lose all the formatting with pdftotext.

It's very easy to create pdf files, but as said earlier, pdf files are simply a bear to edit. Acrobat can sort of do this, but only to a limited extent.

You didn't slow down because you're old; you're old because you slowed down.

We have "Master PDF Editor" within our repo!
Go into MX Package Installer (MXPI) and type in the search field "Master".
IMHO, you will not find a better one for Linux! :turtle:

We don't actually have it in our repo, since we can't find any information on the Net as to whether it's OK with them to redistribute their non-free deb package. So the package-installer just works around that by automating the process of getting and installing the deb directly from them. This also means less work for the maintainers concerning tracking updates and pushing them into our own repo. :p

Well that's because my post is almost 3 years old and was still citing the Mepis Wiki. Try our own Wiki: https://mxlinux.org/wiki/applications/pdf

Not really a pdf editor, but for splitting and merging pdf pages, I keep pdfsam in my arsenal. Great little tool.
