Is there a way to change the monitor's display name in Display Settings?

The monitor shows the incorrect manufacturer for my Monitor/HDMI TV. I tried changing it in /home/username/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/display.xml, but it changed back after a reboot. Iam also looking into installing official nvidia drivers, so not sure if that will fix it? Iam going to wait awhile though, since when i tried it last night it pretty much ruined my install and i had to start over.

Thank you.

I really like MX Linux, its so intuitive, I guess you could say. Hopefully I can get my Steam / Proton games running as good as they did in Ubuntu.

Hi there and welcome.

Can you post the output of MX Tools - Quick System Info?

Just hit paste in a post after running it, it autoformats and puts it on the clipboard for you.

How did you try to install the official nvidia drivers? Which version did you install?
MX-18.3_x64 May 26 2019 * 4.19.0-5-amd64 ext4 Xfce 4.12.3 * 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 2700
