Just a quick update.
I installed the 5.0 Liquorix kernel and it removed r8168-dkms on the machine I have with the matching motherboard to yours. When I rebooted I had no internet.

Not to worry though.

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe r8169
and internet was back

Code: Select all

sudo update-initramfs
so it loads up at boot time.
ethtool shows the 8169 driver is connecting at 1000Mb/s. They fixed the default realtek kernel driver!

Thanks for the update.

An update of my own, I tried this... I don't know what liquorix is, there is nothing labeled that in the package manager, but I thought maybe it is the 5.16 ahs version so I tried that.

Which didn't change the network connection speed.
And the video settings were wrong,

I went back to the standard kernel.

It was worth a shot,

I've ordered another card.. the last one worked once, then I hadn't used it for 6 months and it didn't work, it was probably a dud.
