Realtek 8822be Wireless

#1

Post by jeffreyldavidson » Wed Jan 02, 2019 1:54 pm

I have a Lenovo Y7000 laptop and be default MX 18 does not recognize the wireless. I found a previous post that seemed to work...

sudo modprobe -r ideapad_laptop

Apparently the wireless is detected but not initialized. The post thread suggested adding -- blackllist ideapad_laptop which I did and now the wireless is recognized upon boot,

However this also kills my sound, so the question is how can I get them both to function at the same time?

After you run

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r ideapad_laptop
are you saying that the wireless still doesn't work?

The driver can be unloaded and reloaded with

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r r8822be
sudo modprobe r8822be
Can you give us the output of the end of

Code: Select all

dmseg
after that command and after of these?

You can also load the ideapad_laptop module with and without the r8822be module loaded to see if there is a sequence to get it working. There might be a way to get the sound driver unloaded and reloaded, too, but that means we'll have to see what drivers your sound is using, too.

Yes, it does work but if I add it to blacklist at boot then it knock out the sound.
