Hello,

I purchased a new laptop Dell Inspiron 5770-5501 and was going to install my favourite distro but had a sudden problem which internet seems to know almost nothing about. This topic is the only one I found about it.

I have exactly the same issue: installation of MX_Linux_17.1_May from a DVD hangs on "live-restore-services: Restoring service links".
I tried to install from a USB but the installation goes only 2 raws further and hangs on "Reset file /etc/adjtime".

Can anyone help with this, please?

P.S. I watched a video from dolphin_oracle and though it's too complicated for me and I am not sure I would be able to do that, I do not even have such a kernel selection in MX Package Installer in my MX Linux 16.1 on my old laptop.

Seems like no one ever opens a "solved" topic ((

Sorry to see you haven't yet had much luck! It would be better to start your own topic and provide a link to this one for reference so you can get the attention you deserve and let this thread rest in peace. Good luck!

I would second that. The Solved is added by the OP and indicates his problem has been solved. A new thread would get more attention.
