MX-17 and Asus N10 USB wireless dongle

#1 Post by philmulley » Tue Mar 13, 2018 12:44 pm

I've been having an issue using my Asus USB wireless card with MX-17, it seemed to be fine under MX-16.

Having searched around I found this thread: https://mxlinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... 00#p427834 which was Beta 3 feedback.

spsf64 mentioned this:

After booting WIFI won' t work out of the box I had to edit
/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and add the following lines:

[device]
wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no

After reboot/restart service it works as expected.

I tried this and it worked straightaway: so this post is really just to let people know that the issue still exists in the release version of MX-17 and this solution works.

Nice! The post should probably be in our "Tips and Tricks" Section, though.
