MX17 Swap Super and Control keys

#1 Postby mxshane » Tue Mar 06, 2018 12:23 am

Is there any way to swap Super (i.e Command) keys with Control keys in MX17 on a Macbook Pro?
Thanks,
Shane.

Mod hat on: realize these are all volunteers that also have a personal life. They are not paid to help you. This last post was made not even 8 hours after your previous one.

You might be able to find your answer in the manual.

Hi Eadwine,
I understand everyone here is a volunteer; I saw the 20 odd views to my post and thought that someone might have an idea. I didn't find any answers in the manual when I looked earlier prior to posting.

I don't believe there is anything in the Users Manual on this question. It would be terrific if you could summarize your experiences when you it all set up in a post (or PM to me) that we could get into the Wiki and the Manual.

One reason people have not responded--as I have not--is that very few people have experience with MX-17 on a MacBook Pro. Though I am not an expert, I do know how to do a web search on "xfce swap command and control keys" where there are lots of hits among which you can choose. You can also try clicking Start menu > Settings Manager > Keyboard, and see if you can use the Application Shortcuts.
Production: 4.15.0-1-amd64, MX-17.1, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 8 GB, Kingston SSD 120 GB and WesternDigital 1TB
Testing: AAO 722: 4.15.0-1-386. MX-17.1, AMD C-60 APU, 4 GB

Probably not relevant. But what the hell. I'll post it here.

Hi there,
during MX installation, a choice is given to customise third stage keys like Super/Meta.
After the installation, kboard shortcuts can be parametered thanks to xfconf - its GUI is xfce4-settings-editor and you'll find its shortcut [Settings Editor] in your [Settings Manager].

PS : MX on a Mac Pro ? I do enjoy the concept :D

There is a french expression, a little bit borderline, which could perfectly fit here : "sors-toi les doigts du cul et apprends à demander" (unscrew yourself and learn how to ask for help).
