Fixed by reinstalling-mx17-2 volume icons in panel - no sound

#1 Post by jbloggs » Sat Feb 24, 2018 10:38 pm

originally after install sound worked fine, but now somehow I have 2 volume icons in panel and no sound ( yes I unmuted sound)

Cant find way to remove icons from panel, nor get sound - checked against old mx16 install, all seems ok.

suggestions please.

Go to ==>>sessions and startup and go to
==>>application auto start
see that 2 pulse audio icons are checked?

Thanks guys

did all of above, still no sound through speakers although audio still shows as playing in Clementine.

checked MX16 setup and all appears the same in MX 17, though some files appear to now have different names:- ie

XFCE Volume Daemon now appears to be XFCE Pulseaudio-plugin
and Start-pulse-audio plugin is gone

sound still works fine in MX16 on same PC etc (dual boot)

just booted from MX 17 live cd on same PC.

Sound works fine, though the volume icon has a volume level slider which has disappeared from the HD install after a recent update which is when sound output ceased to work ( nothing from speakers or headphones) though all players indicate sound output.

Now to compare between live cd and hd install for sound settings, though I doubt that that is the problem.

Slider fixed
