ROM drive doesn't work. [Solved]

#1 Postby Mauser » Sat Dec 23, 2017 12:36 pm

ROM drive worked on MX-16.1 but doesn't work on MX-17. I found all the commands are missing in Removable Drives and Media. What commands I put in there? Unfortunately I can't post a screen shot of what I am talking about because image sites are not working.

Have you rebooted? The change needs a reboot.

nothing has to be filled in removable drives and media. those are areas for you to specify apps to open after the media is detected. by default its thunar.

please post the output of

Code: Select all

ll /etc/udev/rules.d

that's 2 lower case L

also, can you mount the cd rom drive using Disk Manager. And what sort of disk are you using (video, music, data)

I tried the same DVD on my laptop that has MX-17 and the same problem. I found the problem. Xfburn burned a bad DVD. It was so bad that it didn't show anything in Thunar. Thinking back, Xfburn did the same thing on an other Linux distro I used in the past. I am going to look for a reliable burner program. Thanks and sorry for the post. Merry Christmas all.
