I am a complete noob when it comes to encryption .
could you encrypt your USB with a yubico key?

I am guessing you only can use a password for encryption

How does this work
DO you encrypt you whole USB...
when you plug in the USB do you need to encrypt >>>boot grub >>> boot into MX Linux

how much safer is it to encrypt when building with Live-USB just with password ?

Their website is probably the best place to start searching for answers to your questions, such as
https://www.yubico.com/why-yubico/for-b ... ncryption/
followed by those other sites that are listed in the websearch results I gave you.
